Job Description

Perform all phases of application systems analysis and design. Collaborate with internal and external clients to determine project requirements and translate these requirements into program specifications and instructions to complete the project. Oversee project completion. Design, develop, document, test and debug the appropriate software solution application to provide cost-effective turnkey solutions to internal and external clients.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Act in any one of the following capacities on Software Development projects: Development Lead, Business Analyst, and/or Lead Architect.
• Recommend process improvements and research new technologies.
• Analyze, design, code, test, and debug new software or make enhancements to existing software to develop cost-effective turnkey solutions that meet or exceed the expectations of internal and external clients.
• Consult with clients, project leads, and/or internal customers to gather requirements, design, and test solutions.
• Analyze system specifications and develop programming code to maintain or enhance the programs developed to meet or exceed the internal and external client needs.
• Develop and maintain code according to AFFINA source code control standards and consistent with department policies and standards.
• Perform maintenance on existing software projects.
• Provide mentoring and training to Associate Software Developers and Software Developers to enhance their technical and business skills.
• Prepare and maintain documentation of procedures and records of work performed within the reporting and documentation standards established by AFFINA in order to facilitate enhancement, change, or troubleshooting of the work.
• Communicate status to organizational managers and project leaders.
• Adhere to negotiated due dates and acceptable budgeted hours of project assignments for completion as expected by internal and external clients.

Minimum Job Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Information Technology related program or comparable experience to achieve proficiency in the theoretical and practical application of computer programming
• Six years’ technical/software development experience, including advanced knowledge of structural programming concepts. Eight years’ experience preferred.
• In depth understanding and use of Software Development Life Cycle and Project Management methodology. Able to analyze and develop program flow and logic specifications to design programs that meet the customer’s requirements.
• Proficiency with use of personal computer and office automation tools, especially Windows, MS Office, MS Project, Source Safe, VB .net, Silverlight & Telerik controls. Advanced PC/Server/Network knowledge.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, including ability to consult with internal and external customers and lead other developers on projects
• Self-starter with a positive attitude. Willing to ask questions and actively seek out answers.
• Ability to work closely with others as a solid team player and Lead in development efforts.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and handle stress in a fast-paced environment
